What did you do before Flybits?
I spent ten years working for Mastercard in various roles that included leading Digital Payments and Labs in Canada. My final role was leading the development of a new global digital engagement platform for Mastercard Managed Services. I have also worked for established Canadian retailers and within the CPG industry with a focus on process and product innovation.
Why did you join the Flybits team?
I joined Flybits because, from our first discussion, I recognized that they had a solution for the fundamental issue in all consumer interactions: reaching the right person, in the right moment, with the right content. More importantly, Flybits is a company of exceptionally talented people. The team has intellectual curiosity, incredible skills and the desire to put that into action every day. Who wouldn’t want to join a team like that?

What’s the biggest challenge financial institutions are facing today?
In my opinion, there are two challenges. Today, consumers expect a customer experience that compares with what Netflix and Amazon can offer. So, banks need to be able to meet and exceed these expectations. Finally, as banks play a central role in the management of consumer data, how will they expand from just being financial vaults to data vaults?
If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?
If I had one superpower it would be the ability to travel through time. Why? Lunch with Alan Turing, a quick coffee with Kelly Johnson, and dinner with Neil Armstrong. Now, that is a meeting schedule.
How would you describe yourself?
I’m curious, passionate about learning something new every day, family focused, and I love doing things that seem impossible at first. I have a strong belief that everything you do in business or life should make you laugh. Also, the best reward for hard work is a day on the water with my family and the dogs!
What motivates you?
I love learning something new, no matter how small, every day.
Any final thoughts?
I think the financial industry is about to experience a paradigm shift that will rival the Industrial Revolution. I’m excited to be working at a company that’s acting as a catalyst for this change.
